- While Las Vegas has made efforts to market itself as a family-friendly destination, the city is very much still geared towards adults. There is an enforced curfew policy: no unaccompanied minors on the streets after 9 p.m.
- There’s a place to sleep for just about any budget.. Las Vegas provides a valiant effort to cater to nearly any financial budget with an immense range of hotel options at different price points. From two-story lofty resorts to a budget room right off the strip, there is just about something for everybody!
- You can’t catch a taxi on the street.. By law, all taxis and ride-sharing services are only allowed to pick up and drop off passengers in designated areas, generally in front of most casinos. Speaking of ride-sharing services…
- If a cab driver is getting chatty, they’re likely not just making small talk. Long-hauling, taking passengers on a longer route than necessary to increase the fare, is unfortunately not unusual in Vegas. Be careful out there!
- There are just about ~150,000 hotel rooms in Las Vegas. As a matter of fact, there are likely more than that since that figure was last estimated in 2017!
- The strip is actually not in the city of Las Vegas. It’s actually located just outside of the city, on the border of Sarah Avenue. The Stratosphere is technically the border of the city limits, so nearly everything to the south is in unincorporated Clark County, Nevada.
- Out of all things, the lottery is illegal in Nevada! Who would have guessed the casinos get jealous like that?
- While exploring outside Las Vegas, keep an eye out for some of the desert wildlife who live here in Nevada! Including birds such as Great Blue Hearings, Seagulls, Coots, Canadian Geese, and boat-load of ducks! Don’t forget our gilled fish friends, either! Red Eared Slider turtles, soft backed turtles, Striped Bass, Channel Catfish, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Tilapia, large Grass Shad and many, many more. Of course we haven’t forgotten our land friends either: Coyotes, Jack Rabbits, Roadrunners, Lizards, Red Racers, and Ground Chipmunks.
